I also think that doing it in public with a 60 day eviction notice isn't legit if they co-own the house. If he fears for his safety then absolutely. If he doesn't then he should have this conversation at home so she can feel her feelings in private. But they will have to negotiate the house stuff and he needs to be willing to leave the house as well. It's a pretty big deal breaking up with your fiancee that you own property with and it's unlikely to be sorted at one dinner. She's unlikely to be able to process everything and then he'll have to go through the details again.
