I did something similar to this with my bf in one of my depressive episodes. I changed my profile pic with him because the thought of him being on my profile felt like a lot, I felt a bit stuck since I knew if we fight, seeing the profile will make me sad/anxious. It’s a weird feeling to experience but sometimes being in a relationship and seeing this everywhere can be bothering.
That being said, her answer sounds like she’s not honest about the reason and trying to hide something. Saying someone they’re overreacting just because they want answers to a odd situation is suspicious.
Why were you on the receiving end of this?
Do what you would advise your daughter to do if she was in your situation. Personally I would tell my kids not to forgive cheaters.
