Both sexes do dumb things and make dumb decisions, I think the difference is how the law looks at this in the west.
If a woman leaves a marriage (for whatever reason) she essentially has the right of first refusal on taking the kids primarily and this would typically entitle her to receiving money from her ex. In many situations this is reasonable, but with stories like this she's actually incentivized to leave for being dishonorable.
A man on the other hand leaves a marriage and he likely will lose his kids and a big chunk of his paycheck. No sympathy for this man if he's been stepping out and behaving dishonorably, but what if his wife is a horribly abuse person? In all cases he loses out.
So yes, both sexes do dumb things, woman have no legal concerns preventing them from acting them out, men are legally incentivized not to leave a marriage.
