There is very little info about the relationship itself, how you guys get along, what else is going on between you two. People who talk about intimacy problems normally still explain how much they love their partners and how they get along besides of this explicit situation, you don't. You explicitly explain that you didn't have this problem before.
I'm not judging, it just gives the impression that you are not really that emotionally invested as one should maybe be after 8 months in a committed relationship.
Here are some questions to ask yourself:
Why do you think that the overly intimate phase ended after four months? (Besides your job and allergies) Is there something else going on in the relationship that stops you from connecting emotionally with your partner? Do you just care about your partner or do you really love her? After 8 months in a relationship, does it feel like you imagined it to when you came together?
Sometimes people get together and then just realize it's not what it's supposed to be I guess.
And it's very very hot to give you a response to your question with that bit of information, not being intimate can have thousands of reasons.
