I can see where you are coming from. But it would not be fair for me not to clarify:
At the time of the ex / friend pursing her, I had not clearly stated that this is a boundary that I expect my partners to respect.
It wasn't until after we got back together, and I admitted that my suspicion of their friendship had led me to believe that she was still seeing him in a romantic capacity.
This is when she told me that he had tried to talk with her about leaving me for him, and she told him no, that she had moved on, and was happy being committed in our relationship. Granted she kept this conversation from me, and I am a little upset by that, but I do not think it is fair to assume that everyone would handle the situation the same way.
Since then I had told her that if anything like that to happen again, I would expect her to tell me, and we discuss how to proceed together.
