Yep. I read OPs replies and he didn't bring up new years until his girlfriend had already told him about her trip she was in the process of planning with her friends. Then all of a sudden Nye was super important to him. Just reading all his contradictory statements in the body of text, while subtle he seems like a stage 5
We've actually had several conversations amd arguments regarding this issue and it gets addressed for 1-2 weeks but then reverts and I'd have to remind him again that he's doing it. I've considered getting professional help but he's not one to air private matters to a stranger and there's also another matter with cost.
Best way is don't flaunt it, don't talk about it and don't let on to you being wealthy such as showering with gifts etc.. That will weed out the rif raf.. Good luck in your adventures

I appreciate this and I understand how things can change over the course of a relationship. It just feels like where there was something lacking with the initial infatuation phase I'm concerned about where it has to go from there.
I definitely do love her wholly and completely, it is just hard to feel like she doesn't want me. I suppose you could be right about her protecting her feelings. She is usually pretty open to me about those things.
