You are correct, thank you. I’ve definitely been focusing too much on the conflict with G, but the real issue is that my boyfriend does not trust me and has not been open with his feelings. Pretty disappointing lol

Reading her comments, she should have been gone a long time ago. Better late than never though.
I get that you feel like you are ditching him for a new guy, but you don’t owe him an explanation. You have to do what’s best for you. If you feel like he is taking up to much of your time you could be upfront and just tell him you have a lot on your plate right now but want to continue being a support person and the friendship just not as much. If he is a true friend he will understand that you can’t put 100% into it. Heck, even with my best friend we don’t talk every day, only with my partner. If this new guy is going to maybe be your potential partner then yes, you are right to start focusing your time with him. Don’t feel guilty that you have to give yourself less time with the old friend or making him feel bad, it’s not your responsibility.

Yeah. As an artist, I still try to make my gift something that my partner would find useful or at least enjoy.
I hate this idea of “YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE PEOPLE OF THE OPPOSITE GENDER IN YOUR LIFE AT ALL IF WE ARE DATING” it's absolutely the most asinine, controlling, and manipulative thing I've ever heard. I've known my best friend (opposite gender) for the better part of ten years, and if any partner wanted me to “choose between them and my best friend” my partner would automatically become my ex.
The fact is, people who give these ultimatums have jealousy and control issues, and they think if they aren't the only (man/woman) in your life outside of family then you must be untrustworthy. It's ridiculous. If he's putting you through this and making you choose then he doesn't care for you.
Dodge the bullet and stay broken up. Find a guy that wants you to be happy over wanting to control your life.
