Cdc estimates 90% of people with genital herpes don't know they have it.
Hsv 1 which most people get as children accounts for 50% of new genital herpes infections from oral sex.
The stigma is worse than the disease for 99% of people with it. There is a small percentage that get extreme and frequent outbreaks though and it definitely sucks and is life changing for them.
