WTF I had stomach cancer and when I was suffering from my partial gastrectomy ( I have a total now; life is better), I never once said anything snippy to anybody who just vented being sick with a cold. In fact friends would not tell me about their minor inconveniences or pains and it made me upset they thought I wouldn’t care because of my illness. I still cared. I grew up with a few family and friends like this and vowed to never be this way.
My mom was recovering from colon cancer and went to work after a chemo treatment, stepped in a bucket of water and fell on her face. I lamented to a friend , who admittedly was dealt a terrible hand of cards (muscular dystrophy) but she had zero concern for my mom. She said really terrible things to me.
So yeah I’ll never be this way to anybody. You deserve better.
