It honestly sounds like he doesn’t respect you and is trying to pick fights with you. You bend overbackwards for him but he won’t do much for you. Yes, working through issues (not even just fights, it shouldn’t always come to a fight) requires listening, understanding, open and honest communication, and a willingness to own up to your part of the issue. It sounds like he doesn’t care about all that and escapes to his parents house until you agree to ignore and forgive, which is very manipulative.
I wouldn’t have time or energy to put up with your boyfriend. He doesn’t seem like he’ll change if he’s already 39. And honestly, if you have to block him to protect yourself from hurtful messages, that’s straight up abuse. I wouldn’t tolerate that. I would cut my ties with this sort of person and find someone that didn’t abuse and manipulate me to do what they wanted.
