I (27F) am ashamed of considering to secretly record my boyfriend (28M) in the shower. How should I tell him?

My boyfriend and I live! separately. He’s a virgin and I’m not, he wants to stay a virgin until we’re married and I can respect that. We’ve been together for 2 years but I’m struggling and I haven’t told him that. Recently the water in his building was shut off due to some construction accident and he asked if he could crash by my place until the water comes back on. I got excited immediately and said yes. Then the idea came to my head while taking a shower that maybe I could I hide a camera in the bathroom. I knew it was wrong but I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It’s eating me up inside and I told him he can’t come over anymore, but I haven’t told him why. I can’t believe I was willing to commit a crime to satisfy myself. How do I explain to him what happened? I am super disappointed in myself and I feel gross
