I read your edit and if you’re afraid of how he’ll react, have friends come over for support and if things escalate, call the police but either way you won’t be by yourself. There’s plenty of people you could be with that like having space as well. My current bf is the first person I’ve dated that likes having space about the same amount as me…which is pretty much almost every day lol our weekly routine is: go to work, come home, we’ll cook dinner together and watch around 2-4 episodes of a show, then I do whatever I want and he does whatever he wants for the rest of the night. We’ve taken trips together and without each other. We’ve gone out with friends together and without. The guys I’ve dated before weren’t on the same toxic level as your guy but they would get pouty if I didn’t want to spend all of my free time with them and it was annoying. Since I’ve experienced peace with this guy…I could never go back to dating someone who refused to give me space if things were to not work out for some reason. You have every right to have your space. It drives me nuts when someone SO doesn’t get it through their skull that it’s not because we don’t love them or whatever ?
