Make sure you are never the only side that has to compromise. If you cater to them demand the same from them on the next. The less you fight for equal treatment the more they simply think that it is normal that it's you and your family that has to adjust to their whims. Obviously standing up for yourself will cause conflict, but it is a necessary conflit. The only alternative to this is being a doormat on christmas (and perhaps more often than that).
Ok so I see your point because nothing happened but as a married women you should not be alone drinking with another man. That’s just not ok. I know everyone will spit out random she should be able to do what she wants but no.
If you read any post her about cheating… how did it start… my gf/bf started getting drinks with a co worker. How many ways does he have to tell you he would prefer a group setting? He did it as nice as he could.
As far as the continued problems try communicating the issues rather then letting them fester.
