Me(23F) and my boyfriend (28M) spat over marriage.

Me (23F) and my boyfriend (28M) were having a conversation with my mom about getting married. We’re pretty open in the sense of communication. We were talking about us getting married and he started getting upset because I jokingly said its been 5 years and the clock is ticking. He started ranting about how he’s not even 30 yet what’s the rush, and how he can’t afford a 5k ring let alone a wedding, and we on-line with his parents and he wants to move out first. I’ve never said I wanted a 5k ring. I just finished school and started working so I’ve been saving. He doesn’t save anything and is usually broke by the end of the week. So I don’t see him making an effort to move out. I feel like its all on me to get us out of his parents home. My mom was trying to explain to him how I was joking and he eventually calmed down. But it got me thinking. What if he doesn’t have the intentions marry me at all.
