I have a feeling that all your “talking about it” ends with him saying what he thinks you want to hear, and not changing his views at all. Because it isn't a main focus in his life, he's fine with giving you the answer you want to get the annoying discussion to stop.
That's not the same thing at all. I'd let my husband look through my phone any time – he can see all my texts, my search history, what erotica I've read, whatever. But I would absolutely not be okay with that stuff being posted to my socials. It's a false equivalence.
