This, addicts do tend to place blame where it doesn’t belong especially in active addiction BUT, there is also always a reason why addicts start using. We are usually self medicating, I’m in recovery, 8 years opiate free, and I am terrible at dealing with issues in my life I would rather ignore them until the pain becomes too much to deal with and I end up self medicating. This is something I have been learning to change and deal with. Something like OP us dealing with very well could lead someone like me who doesn’t have the tools I have to use again and it would be part of the root cause of me using. It comes down to me not coping properly but there has to be something that sets it off. I think the therapist may have described his situation in a similar manner and due to lack of better wording OP simply says it’s because of his wife that things have gotten bad again.
My bf wall mounted the tv. It would take a hurricane or tornado to make it fall it is super bolted on. Why is this tv falling on day 2? There are many other examples of pure carelessness and incompetence .
It’s time to move on and let your friend go. He has a family now, please respect that. Think about their child instead of yourself. Don’t destroy that child’s home.
Does he know? Do you think he desires you? What happened from his loss of interest, back to his interest?
The complication already exists. OPs bf is upset for whatever reason that he can’t go on the trip.
OP has said that it’s basically off limits to SOs – so if an SO turns up OPs BF is going to think that OP lied to him.
