I'm going to bring up these points with him later.
I'm not worried about him trying to flirt with this girl or something. I trust him about that and am pretty sure he won't try to hit on other people.
But he can be very childish, callous and unfiltered about all kinds of human interactions. Often it makes him come across as good-humored, easygoing and honest, but sometimes it makes me uncomfortable. But then I worry maybe I'm the one who's too uptight and anti-social.
If I ask him to be not callous, he tends to completely shut down and be like “now I don't know what to say at all”. I find that really frustrating.
I’ve been there. You don’t have a real relationship. You are both deeply unhappy and are using the other as a mask to not deal with the real pain. There’s very little chance that you forge a healthy relationship under these conditions.
Each of you should decide whether you want to be with your spouse or not. Separately decide to stay or leave.
I’d then suggest some time apart to let things process before rushing into anything.
Therapy is also recommended.
And then if you both are in situations where you aren’t hiding or unavailable, then consider giving it a shot.
Otherwise, you’ll likely be more unhappy in short order. You’re bringing your problems with you; not leaving them.
