  1. personally I think the focus on attachment styles is way overblown. it reminds me of when people put their Myers-Briggs results in their biography and swear by them.

    ultimately psychological constructs are just tools we use to talk about and discuss very complex elements of human existence, attachment being one of the most complex.

    my advice is abandon trying to fit yourself into a little box of “anxious” or “avoidant” or whatever. human psychology often defies simple categorization.

    rather, you should pursue therapy or discussion with a loved one, colleague, or peer regarding this. it's some aspect of your functioning which is causing you continual emotional pain. I'd treat it just like you had a sprained ankle; you see a doctor. Go see an emotions doctor i.e. a psychotherapist.
