Well I can't say you're not abrasive but I understand what your saying. I'm working on that. Still trying to grow out of having a bi polar mother so I suck at it but I'm trying. I appreciate your replies.
The simple answer is just don't share buying a car with him, let him do what he wants to do, it's not your job to educate him.
Just tell him you have savings goals and helping him buy a car would derail those savings goals.
If he keeps trying to pressure you just ask if that's what your role in the relationship is, to finance his decisions? Just tell him you don't want to do it and he's more than welcome to do what he sees fit.
