I don't know about a close family friend. Because your wife expressed it was important for her not to know about it. I feel sleeping with a close friend would cause a ton of personal issues. I would cancel and meet someone on vacation or a rando on a dating site.

You don't HAVE to trust the feeling. There's no rush to get married. Just keep dating him for another year or two and see how things go. You WILL have fights and arguments and difficult/sterssful times together eventually. The hallmark of a good relationship isn't that you never fight; it's how well the two of you respond when it DOES happen.

I knew an Asian girl in college who had parents who didn’t want her to date outside her race. She would strictly date outside her race with guys who would piss off her parents the most.
Those guys never lasted because they eventually caught on to the fact she was dating them for deeper emotional reasons than just because she liked them. They were a prop.
She grew up and dealt with her baggage and is in a much better place now, but when she was your age, those guys figured it out pretty quick.
