Hey, I am so sorry to both you and your partner that this happened and I know how unsettling something like this can be, I’m glad it seems like you have a good head on your shoulders and a good support network to figure out what’s going on.
I’ve been (accidentally) roofied before and also have an allergy to blue curaçao that I discovered after becoming violently ill and out of sorts (at a Broadway show…). I know you mentioned you had something blue and if that’s out of the norm for you you might want to consider this. In both experiences my behavior was completely abnormal from how I usually act when inebriated.
Your partner loves and supports you and wants the best for you. If you display uncharacteristic behavior once, you do not have to feel bad about it. It’s when it becomes a pattern that you choose to ignore/not actively try and remedy that you should feel bad about how you behaved towards him. Even if this is a physiological issue and requires you to change your drinking habits, the important thing is you didn’t know that this was going to happen. Beating yourself up for circumstances out of your control isn’t going to help you heal, or make your partner feel better.
