I don't believe he's an alcoholic because he drinks maybe twice a week and doesn't get wasted every time but lately it's been a reoccurring thing that if he does happen to drink too much he gets angry and its not fun for anyone.

You have decided that it is even though you have absolutely no guarantee that the train will definitely be impacted by strikes meaning you miss the event. And yet you have still decided that the train is the “wrong choice” and how you are conveying that comes off as condescending.
This kind of behaviour is absolutely exhausting to deal with. I appreciate that you've started therapy to address this but you need to understand how this impacts your girlfriend on a daily basis.
Honestly, it's because this friend is grimy. He has a history of drug abuse, violence, theft, and is currently homeless.

If I had known she was sleeping around I would’ve done the same and still tried pursuing her. Nah only thing stopping me from leaving is I actually really like her a lot. I just wish there was a way for me to get over this fact, bc it wasn’t cheating
